Josh’s Story

Proof that the right support can get you where you want in life

Josh has been supported by The Bradley Foundation for almost two years. In that time, the team has watched him grow in ways that once felt impossible.

Facing anxiety, one step at a time

For Josh, anxiety was one of his biggest challenges. There were times when it felt like anxiety had taken over his life and stopped him from doing the things that made him happy.

Josh and his support worker worked through those challenges together, one step at a time, finding strategies that helped him feel more confident, capable and in control of his own life.

The journey hasn’t always been easy. Josh has faced many challenges along the way, but his resilience, determination and willingness to keep trying have been incredible to watch.

Reaching what once felt out of reach

Over the past two years, Josh has achieved things he once believed were out of reach.

Exploring new places

Josh has travelled, giving him the chance to connect with others, experience new environments and build confidence and trust within the community.

A home that’s truly his

He has worked on his organisational skills and created a home environment that feels safe, comfortable and truly his own.

Confidence that keeps growing

He has built confidence across so many areas of his life and has been able to access therapy, beginning to work through difficult experiences that once felt overwhelming.

His biggest step yet

From a job interview to a hospital role

After putting in so much work to build his confidence, Josh found the courage to attend a job interview, something that would once have felt incredibly difficult for him. And he did it.

Josh was offered an amazing opportunity to work at a hospital, where he will be surrounded by people who may be facing their own challenges. He’ll be able to support others, guide them and remind them that things can get better.

Someone who once felt like anxiety was controlling his life is now stepping into a role where he can help other people find their own strength.

Adventures along the way

Progress doesn’t happen overnight

Josh’s story is a reminder that progress doesn’t always happen overnight. Sometimes it’s one small step, one conversation, one challenge overcome at a time. With perseverance, the right support and belief in yourself, the life you once thought was impossible can become your reality.

Josh has grown into an incredible version of himself, and everyone around him, including the whole team at The Bradley Foundation, is so proud of how far he has come.

This is what The Bradley Foundation is passionate about: supporting people to build confidence, overcome barriers, discover their strengths and create a life that feels meaningful and truly their own.

Because sometimes, people don’t need someone to change their life for them.

They just need someone beside them who believes they can.
