Paying for your holiday

How costs work

The NDIS doesn’t pay for holidays, but your plan may pay for the support you need while you’re away. We’ll always talk through the costs with you before anything is booked.

What your NDIS plan may cover

  • Your support worker’s time while you’re away, at the same level of support you usually get, if your plan includes it (usually from your Core budget).
  • Help planning the trip with you, and support getting there and home again.

What you pay for yourself

  • Flights, trains, ferries and other travel costs
  • Accommodation
  • Food and drinks
  • Activities, tours and entry tickets
  • Your support worker’s travel and accommodation

Going overseas? Your NDIS plan can usually keep being used for up to 6 weeks while you’re away.

No surprises

Every holiday is different, so your out-of-pocket costs are worked out with you and The Bradley Foundation. You’ll get them in writing before you book, and you can bring a family member, nominee or support coordinator into the conversation.

What your plan can pay for depends on your own plan. Check with your plan manager or support coordinator if you’re not sure.
